As I’ve been venturing into the world of tmux
, a common refrain has
been to remap the pane split commands as they seem a little arbitrary
and hard to remember:
<C-b> %
for side-by-side<C-b> “
for stacked
As a denizen of the UK, I lean towards its native keyboard layout.
Something occurred to me. These keys actually make sense when ”
is off
to the right instead of in the number row.
You basically move your hand in the direction you’d like the resulting line between the new pane and the old to be. Like some kind of pane splitting Jedi.
