Just like everyone else, I've always struggled to keep track of work tasks/notes. I've never had much luck with all these fancy "methodologies" and tools. Nothing other than mark unread and an open-ended text document has ever really lasted any length of time.
I was chatting to a good friend of mine, and he has put me onto what looks like it could be a winning combination:
I say promising, as:
- It's virtually the same as an open-ended text file...
- ... but you can easily group/link data if you want.
- Taskwiki lets tasks be entered anywhere (in a shell, in any doc) yet be simply aggregated wherever you want to see them.
I had previously tried nvim-orgmode (a LUA port of the fabled emacs org mode), but found its date entry a bit long-winded. It has some nice features out-the-box, but the specific combo of being able to specify preset task metadata, based on the parent heading seems like a winner.
